The Canon EOS Rebel XSi Digital Camera incorporates improved autofocus sensor, enhanced 14-bit A/D conversion, an advanced Live View function, and the proprietary DIGIC III image processor which ensures that the fine details and natural colors of the images are optimally recorded, and also manages the camera's efficient energy consumption and high-speed signal processing performance. Its newly designed 12.2 megapixel APS-C size CMOS sensor employs large micro-lenses over each pixel to reduce noise and enhance sensitivity up to ISO 1600, while the 14-bit Analog-to-Digital (A/D) conversion process means the Rebel XSi camera records up to 16,384 colors per channel and allows the camera to produce images with finer and more accurate gradations of tones and colors. The camera also incorporates the Highlight Tone Priority and High-ISO Noise Reduction functions (previously found only on Canon's Professional Digital SLRs) and the camera is equipped with Canon's Auto Lighting Optimizer technology, which corrects image brightness and contrast automatically to prevent underexposure with backlit scenes.
Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS SLR Lens: Canon's latest optical Image Stabilizer (IS) technology provides up to 4-stop compensation for image blur caused by camera shake and slow shutter speeds. Photographers normally shooting handheld at 1/250 sec can switch on IS to obtain a similarly steady and blur-free result with a shutter speed of just 1/15 second. The inclusion of automatic panning detection makes it easier for photographers to track wildlife and other moving subjects.
Canon EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 III USM Telephoto Zoom Lens: Compact and lightweight 4x telephoto zoom lens ideal for shooting sports, portraits, and wildlife. The developed Micro USM (ultra-sonic monitor) makes auto focusing quicker and quieter. The improved zoom mechanism also makes zooming smoother.

I'M HAPPY WITH MY CAMERA.BUT THE ONLY PROBLEM WAS THAT I'VE GOT THE MANUAL IN FRENCH AND I
SPEAK PORTUGUESE.SO IF YOU CAN SEND ME BY MAIL OR E-MAIL THE MANUAL IN PORTUGUESE I WILL LEARN MUCH MORE EASY.
AND I DID NOT RECIEVE THE RECIEPT TO ALSO GET THE GARANTY.IF IS IMPOSSIBLE TO SEND TO BRASIL YOU CAN SEND

I have been a semi-pro photographer for a while now. I bought this kit thinking it would be a good way to get all supplies with one click of the button. Bottom line, the body is good but the lens aren't up to par. The tripod, camera bag, memory card are all okay too but I think you'd do better buying it all seperate. The two lens you get with this kit don't do justice to the camera's ability to take good photos. I would suggest the XSI body and a Tamron 17-50 f/2.8 lens that runs just under $500 or a Canon 28-135mm lens also in that price range. Both take waaaay better photos than the two lens that come with this kit. And another thing, if you buy a kit, make sure you save all packaging in mint condition if after 10 days or so of playing around you aren't satisfied you can return it. That is not easy to do because you need to take it out and shoot a couple hundred photos or so just to get the feel for it. Generally they DO NOT do returns unless everything is almost untouched. I really suggest buying local when it comes to the camera and lens. It's not easy dealing with mail orders on this kind of product.

The camera is nice. But the Zoom Lens does not have image stabilization and for a zoom lens it would be nice. (I know I know, why not just use a tripod :)
