1 out of 5 stars Stay away from this product   November 11, 2008

I purchased this item and it worked now and then, but then it ruined all the pictures on the card and I had to reformat it losing everything. Don't buy generic peanut butter and don't skimp on card readers.

This is a great little technological gadget! So much more convenient (and saves battery life too) than using cables to transfer photos to my computer. Everyone with a digital camera should have one of these.

1 out of 5 stars Don't use as it damages xD cards   December 18, 2007

The first time I thought that it was bad luck, the second time tells me that the device is faulty.

I have irreparably damaged two Olympus xD picture cards with this device. I lost half the pictures from one card, and some of the pictures that were pulled from the first card are not rectangular. The Olympus camera tries, but is unable to reformat the xD cards, while the computer can't even see the cards now.

Be warned.

2 out of 5 stars Mixed Feelings   December 15, 2007

I bought this product because it seemed that it would be faster than the comparable Olympus brand. I usually upload 100-500 pictures per day from my 2GB memory card. It is fast, but after about 750MB, it no longer transfers the pictures. I have to switch to the USB cord to upload the rest of the pictures. After using this product, I also have to format my memory card before the next use.

All in all, this product isn't worth it. I should have purchased the Olympus brand. It would have been slow, but at lease I would have been able to upload all my pictures! In the meantime, I'm just using the USB cord that came with the camera!
