2 out of 5 stars Wont hold up to continuous use   September 3, 2008

I bought this item and used it approximately two times a week.
I loved it at first for how small and easily transportable it was.
However, it turned out to be too flimsy.

I used it to switch the MicroSD card back and forth between my cell phone and laptop.
After about two months, the small plastic part that keeps the card in place broke off. I continued to use it by holding the broken portion in place while inserting the card into the USB drive of my laptop but ultimately, the broken part was lost and the entire thing is now useless.

5 out of 5 stars If You Have Vista and A 4GB MicroSD Card You Need This   July 21, 2008

I bought a 4GB MicroSD card for my BlackJack 2 cell phone - I didn't know that Vista cannot read a 4GB card without installing a 3rd party patch..I ordered this and it works perfect, now I can have any files that I want on my phone. A must have!!

5 out of 5 stars Nice little micro gizmo...   June 28, 2008

Works great, no problems. Very tiny and cool looking, its amazing how the little micro SD card can hold 8GB and this reader makes the whole thing super cool with its micro size. I recomend it! Looks cool and works great, oh and it's cheap!

5 out of 5 stars Great little product   June 17, 2008

I love this little thing. When outside the case, it's unbelievably tiny. Been using this (plus a 2GB microSD card) for 8 months in my Vista laptop as my dedicated "ReadyBoost" USB flash drive, and it works beautifully.

I picked it because it looked so tiny, and I wanted the least obtrusive thing I could find since it would be sitting in one of my USB ports all the time. It certainly has not disappointed: it's roughly the width and thickness of the _metal part_ of a standard USB A-type connector, and roughly a little less than twice as long as same. So when it's plugged in, the exposed piece portion is very small. Even though my laptop only has USB ports on the side (none on the back), I don't even notice it's there - although that's partially due to the fact that that USB port is jammed right up next to the power cable.

It fills its intended purpose beautifully, and it's very useful otherwise. Having a tiny, high-capacity thumb drive always at hand (no need to search through drawers or bags) is very convenient; I've used it to quickly transfers large files to other XP and Vista computers with nary a hitch. Plus, my phone uses MicroSD to store music, so I can quickly swap files to-and-from the phone without having to locate the USB cable.

And the price is amazing.

(Oh, and just so I don't mislead, you obviously need a separate microSD card to make this thing useful. But those are extremely cheap right now, and you can get a bundle that includes this USB adapter and a microSD card for a really good price).

4 out of 5 stars Use with 2GB card, no problems   March 2, 2008
Richard Robertson (Portland, OR)
I have 1.39 GB of a 2 GB card in use and have no problems with this device (contrary to the problems the prior reviewer noted).

I transfer data to an micro SD card used in an LG VX9900 'env' phone with no problems. Easy way to move .jpg and .3g2 files back & forth from phone & laptop.

Device is very small & easy to lose, so I attached a laniard.
