Watch out for Type I vs Type II, this may not fit your device September 1, 2010 JDG (San Francisco, CA) This SD to CF adapter, like all others it seems, is in a Type II CF package, which is 5mm tall. Type I is 3.3mm tall. This card does not fit in my Nikon Coolpix 990. Double check your device's specs before planning to use one of these adapters.
Eye-Fi card in Canon 30D- it works! August 16, 2010 T. C. Lawton (Fort Collins CO USA) Does exactly what I wanted- allows me to use an Eye-Fi card (specifically an Eye-Fi Explore 2 GB Wi-Fi SD Flash Memory Card EYE-FI-2EX (OLD VERSION) ) in a Canon EOS 30D CF card slot- and it all seems to be working perfectly.
Performance with 5DmkII and SanDisk Extreme III 8GB SD Card August 10, 2010 PHILIP J KURYLOSKI (Ithaca, NY United States) The adapter seemed to function properly, however produced disappointing speeds in the 5D, even when used with a very high speed SD card (SanDisk Extreme III). While I could shoot stills, video would be limited to 3-4 seconds before the buffer filled. I did not test burst mode. As a result, I can't recommend it for any video use. I can be useful in a pinch for stills if you happen to have SD cards.
Great Adapter - Works Perfectly August 4, 2010 Ken (Seattle WA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have a DSLR which uses Complact Flash memory cards while my wife has a point and shoot which uses SD memory cards. With this adapter we only need ONE type of card - the SD and will work in both cameras. Also, my computer accepts directly the SD card for downloading, but not the Compact Flash. I can remove SD from compact flash adapter and insert directly into computer for downloading. I read that the through put of the adapter may limit the speed. I cannot answer as I never shoot 4 or 5 pics per second. At most I might shoot two/second very occasionally and it works fine. I strongly suspect that the the through put is more limited by the SD card and speed than the adapter. It works great for me and have no problems.
Didn't work for with Canon Rebel Xt July 29, 2010 Steven D Ratts (Tucson, AZ United States) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this adapter specifically to enable me to use my Eye-Fi card (an SDHC card) with my Canon Rebel Xt which takes compact Flash. I also have a Sony DSC-V3 that takes compact flash as well. While you can insert the Eye-Fi card (or any other SDHC card) into the adapter, neither camera will recognize the card. Save your money, it's completely useless.
