Avoid this company! July 22, 2008 aprilloraine (Minneapolis, MN USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Don't waste your time and money on this company! I purchased this hard drive so that I could have a safe place to store a copy of the information on my computer. The drive worked fine for a couple of months, and then began to make loud clicking noises. In addition, it took my computer a long time (an hour or more) to recognize that the drive was attached, and backing up took more than 24 hours. I contacted Iomega on-line (you can't call them unless you pay $25 or have paid extra for a service plan) and had to engage in a slow and tedious chat session. All they could offer to do was to replace the drive. I did this, and now after 2 months this new (refurbished) drive is acting the same way. I contacted Iomega again and asked to return the drive for a credit so I could try a different product, and was told all they could do was to send me the identical drive with a 90 day warranty. I find this company and their products a huge disappointment.
Very reliable seller. I am fully satisfied. July 18, 2008 Shaiket Das (Issaquah, WA) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
The package arrived in time and in the condition indicated on the website. Very satisfied with this seller, will do business with them again.
A bit of the good, bad, and ugle July 17, 2008 belenday (Pleasanton, CA United States) The good: it arrived quickly - even the replacement. It connected in just a few minutes. Transferred 20GB of data quickly and easily. I think it is compact, easy to use, and a good value. So far the replacement is working fine.
The bad: Next day, my PC couldn't recognize it. Sent it back for a replacement. As a side irk, the replacement doesn't always allow for a normal USB device disconnect - noting that it is busy even though there isn't any software or device creating a connection at that time.
The ugly: when I contacted Iomega, after trying to run multiple fixes with them (over an hour), the person sarcastically said it was a Windows problem and I needed to contact Microsoft. They couldn't do anything and did not know what happened saying - "it is a plug and play device and if it doesn't work, then its a problem with Windows." So why even try to run fixes! Microsoft said it was an Iomega issue. So, I sent it back.
