So Far, So Good November 22, 2008 Joe F. Lowe (Lake San Marcos, CA United States) Loaded well, but just last week had a one year old Western Digital 500GB Pro Edition hard drive fail completely... so, we'll see how this one holds up, but I worry just a bit. Maybe I just got a bad one (500GB), or maybe WD just has so-so quality control..... time will tell.
However, this one is nice and small, and I like the "no brick" USB only design... it fits nicely in my safety deposit box where I store it as a safe, safe backup for my 48,000 song iTunes library.
Fast reliableb but need better interface November 22, 2008 Ahmed S. Osman I have bought this disk as a backup disk. it is fast reliable but its backup software need more improvment

HD for Dummies November 21, 2008 Dallas Needed an external drive for backup purposes. Searched, read reviews, selected this one. I ordered, it came in a timely fashion and in good condition. Worked as advertised. Plug and Play. No techie skills required. I did need to make some changes to be able to backup entire system, but instructions were available and easily followed.
Not so sure I bought this item November 20, 2008 G. Cantor (Mill Valley, CA USA) I bought one of these babies a month and a half ago and am not all that pleased. I have several machines that I routinely move information from/to and back up. I needed a reliable and portable solution. I've had several problems with some of my machines ingesting this drive and so am concerned about long-term reliability. If you're considering a disk like this, review all alternatives first!
