5 out of 5 stars I think I finally found the perfect one!   November 17, 2008

This Canon Inkjet Printer is the perfect "all in one" to suit all of your needs! Easy to use and a very reliable Canon product. Seriously thinking about giving one to our grown children for Christmas. They will love the vivid colors and photo producing capabilities.

5 out of 5 stars Great all-in-one printer   October 15, 2008
S Morgan (Bay Area, CA)
This is a great printer. My husband and I bought a Mac and our old printer was not fully compatible so we had to buy a new one. We wanted a photo printer, but one that could copy, print, and scan and that wasn't too expensive. Prints great photos. We even copied one of our wedding photos that was printed in a lab and it came out very close in quality. Would highly recommend and we haven't even used it to its full potential.

4 out of 5 stars I'm very happy with the MP970.   October 11, 2008
PB (Somerville, MA USA)
My only concern is that the Pictbridge connection doesn't work with my digital camera, and according to both manuals, it should. I don't know which machine is causing the problem. The front door seems to have become unmoored on one side. Nevertheless, I really am pleased with the the way it prints photos and copy, and that's the important thing.

2 out of 5 stars problems in changing paper size, lousy tech support   September 16, 2008

The 970 does what it does just fine, but although it seems as if it can accomodate printing to varied paper sizes, getting it to print correctly to the custom size is spotty. I have wasted quite a bit of paper and ink when the preferences screen showed printing as wanted, but prints came out wrong.
I spoke to 2 tech reps and neither was familiar with Adobe Photoshop and one recommended I use the simplistic Canon software instead. He also suggested using metric measurements rather than inches for paper size. They were eager to suggest it was an Adobe problem. Since I've had no trouble with the interface with Photoshop and my other Canon printer, I would guess that it is a problem with the 970. I've had the printer too long to return it, but if I could, I would!

5 out of 5 stars MP 970 So far great printer   September 10, 2008

I've had the printer about 2 months now and so far I like it very much. I haven't figured out how to scan directly from the printer yet, I have to do it from my computer, but its just that I haven't had the time to spend experimenting. Pictures are great but you need to use good photo paper like Canon or Kodak. Printing is high quality also. My former printer was a Lexmark 5200, and I have to say it did great at printing scanning and photos. My only problem was with the two tank ink, the photo's were not water resistent. But the MP970 makes excellent water proof photo's and I have used very little ink the cartridge indicators all still show full. It is not as big as many people have said. The dual paper feed really is a nice touch. I don't need a Fax which is the only downside , but if you don't need it why pay for something you won't use.Another great thing is my wife bought this for my birthday and 1 week later Amazon had it at a lower price, $30.00 lower and they credited her Charge card immediately upon request.
