No USB Cable - ! January 1, 2009 Loki 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
I had to rate this as 1. No USB cable is worthless. When I got here in rural WI with the unit there was no cable and no place to get one nearby. So stay away from this one!
Bad Printer December 25, 2008 James Colvin (Portage, Mich) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I had previously owned a Epson CX3200 printer that I had bought for around $80.00, I had pretty good luck with it and it lasted a couple of years. When I saw the NX400 printer by Epspon for approx $80.00 I figured it would be a good buy. I had read some bad reviews on this printer, I should have listened. I would not recommend this printer. It is extremely noisy and it uses up an incredible amount of ink. It appears that after only using one set of ink cartridges that the nozzles are plugged up. I bought another set of cartridges (very expensive) and it still didn't work. The new cartridges are as much as a brand new printer. I did not want to throw this printer away but I couldn't afford to keep it. I now own a HP C5580 and so far I like it. It is very quiet. I paid $120.00 for it at Circuit City. I also bought the extended warrrenty for $50.00. I never buy a warrenty but with a printer I think it might be a good idea.
First/ Last Espon December 24, 2008 Emmanuel Bernabe (Chicago, IL USA) 0 out of 3 found this review helpful
Thought it was a great deal at $49.99 and was really excited. After installing the included cartidges the message read: "Cannot recognize ink cartridges." Taking it back ASAP- what a hassle.
What a deal! December 16, 2008 Lena LaFaye (Bartlett, TN) I bought this at a discount of $49.99. I was a bit skeptical at first, choosing between this and a $79.99 HP one.
This is the right choice. My uses for it are personal use, mostly lots of scanning, minimum printing and copying. The set up is incredibly simple. You will need to buy a USB cord for it though. No complaints at all with this, I will recommend it to everyone!
Uses ink without printing December 12, 2008 RG (Hawaii) 10 out of 10 found this review helpful
I am SO SO SO unhappy for buying this printer. If I continued to use it, it would cost me over $1 per page in ink supplies - why? Because I print very few pages, and this printer consumes ink without printing. Apparently, every time it is turned on, or every time the computer is turned on or every time it is connected to a computer, it is programmed to "use" ink, or at least make you/the computer think it has used ink.
I have printed less than 20 pages TOTAL in approx 2 months, and all but 5 of them with the "Use Black Ink Only" option in properties, yet, all 3 color cartridges are down to 1 notch before totally empty, and the black level is 2 notches above empty. A set of black and color ink cartridges is about $40 - you do the math - less than 40 pages printed = $40 in ink?
Searching the Internet, I learn that Epson (as well as some other ink jet makers) intentionally do this - this should be illegal. Someone needs to sue these unethical greedy Sob's.
